Soil Testing Privacy Policy

Soil Testing communicates with a compatible USB serial soil sensor and keeps measurement records locally on the user's Android device.

Data Collection

Soil Testing does not require an account and does not collect personal data. The app does not use advertising, analytics, crash-reporting services, or cross-app tracking.

Local Data Storage

Soil measurement records saved by the user are stored locally on the user's device. Records may include humidity, temperature, conductivity, pH, nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, fertility, and timestamps. The app may also store the user's language preference locally.

USB Device Access

Soil Testing uses the Android USB Host interface only to communicate with a compatible USB serial soil sensor connected by the user. Android requests the user's permission before the app accesses the USB device. The app does not request location, camera, microphone, contacts, or broad shared-storage access.

Data Sharing

Soil Testing does not upload measurements or saved records to a server and does not sell or share user data with third parties. If the user exports a CSV file or shares it through Android's system share sheet, the user chooses the destination and controls where the file is sent.

Data Retention and Deletion

Saved records remain on the device until the user clears them in the app, clears the app's data, or uninstalls the app. The History screen includes a Clear Data function for deleting locally saved records.

Children

Soil Testing is a professional measurement utility and is not directed to children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy if the app's features or data practices change. The effective date on this page will be updated when a revised policy is published.
